With Grateful Hearts

What can I say??  Any words I have will pale in comparison to how deeply touched and grateful Matt and I are feeling.  It feels like anything we could possibly say, cannot fully express how deeply touched we are.  There is a saying that says, “when it rains look for rainbows and when it’s dark look for the stars.”  Thank you for being our rainbows and stars.

This blog post is not like the others.  There is no update on Kaleb… that one will come later in the week.  This blog post is about YOU our village.  These past 2 months have been a rollercoaster for us.  Life is not always fair, life can be hard, but I believe it was never meant to be done alone.  All to often we want our world to be wrapped up into a pretty package with the perfect bow. Not all undone and messy for the world to see. Leaving us to feel exposed and vulnerable.  But we have learned that there can be something beautiful that comes from living life undone.... A village of people who care, some you may have never met and others that are from not only part of your present but also from your past.  What a gift.

We want to thank every person that has been praying for Kaleb.  You are prayer warriors, and you are being heard. That, we have faith in.  Kaleb has been so blessed that he has not had to be stuck in a hospital more than a treatment day since his chemo started. There are moments of peace that fall upon us when things are rapidly changing, and we are trying to understand and get our heads wrapped around what is needed to be done.

The people whom we do not know personally that have come along side of us.  Your love, care and generosity have touched us to the core. To the people that have come together making meals, providing comfort while we try and sort everything out and get our feet back under us. Thank you, life is easier to face with a full belly.

The kind words of encouragement and private messages we have received during this time have been a source of strength to draw upon.  The gifts to uplift Kaleb and help him through this journey, they have touched him so deeply compelling him to ask “why?... I don’t deserve this.”  Then seeing the look in his eyes when he realizes he is loved by so many people outside of his own circle.

Thank you to the family and friends that have had the foresight to see our needs before we had even realized them.   And for reminding us to breath, accept the help and feel the love raining down on us.

Thank you to those who have stepped forward and have blessed us with generous donations.

It has been said that kindness is loaning someone your strength instead of reminding them of their weakness and that helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,

The Willson Family
